• Saffas Abroad: Ingram breaks Glamorgan record

    Colin Ingram and Quinton de Kock were the standout South African performers abroad over the past week.

    County Championship Division One

    Former Proteas spinner Simon Harmer took six wickets for Essex (3-103 and 3-110) in their 43-run defeat to Worcestershire.

    Joburg-born former England international Keaton Jennings scored 56 runs off 131 balls (seven fours) in Lancashire’s innings-and-nine-run defeat to Hampshire.

    Kyle Verreynne made 50* off 60 deliveries (five fours, one six) on his county debut for Nottinghamshire in their draw against Surrey.

    County Championship Division Two

    Colin Ingram hit a mammoth 257* off 375 balls (28 fours, one six) in Glamorgan’s draw with Leicestershire.

    It saw him become the quickest to reach 1,000 runs for Glamorgan in a season (13 innings).

    Wayne Madsen continued his fine form with a knock of 138 off 210 deliveries (21 fours, three sixes) in Derbyshire’s first innings against Sussex, before scoring 77 off 149 balls (10 fours) in their second.

    Derbyshire, though, still suffered an innings and 59-run loss.

    Caribbean Premier League

    Quinton de Kock hit a quickfire 87* off 45 balls (nine fours, five sixes) to lead the Barbados Royals to a nine-wicket victory over the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons.

    Former Proteas all-rounder David Wiese took two wickets before scoring 34 off 20 balls in the St Lucia Kings’ five-wicket win against the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.
