Leus du Plooy‘s match-winning knock and Wayne Parnell‘s bowling exploits were the South African highlights of the past weekend’s T20 Blast matches in England.
On Sunday, Grant Roelofsen scored 33 off 24 balls (two fours, two sixes) for Gloucestershire in a 32-run loss to Glamorgan, while Middlesex’s Stephen Eskinazi made 28 off 20 (two fours, two sixes) as his side went down by 22 runs against Essex via the D/L method.

Earlier, Parnell returned figures of 3-41 for Durham in a seven-run loss to Lancashire (D/L method), while captain Du Plooy starred for Derbyshire in their 144-run victory over Yorkshire, with an unbeaten 66 off 32 deliveries (four fours, five sixes).

In another match-winning knock, Ricardo Vasconcelos‘ 51 off 44 balls (six fours) propelled Northamptonshire to a 78-run win over Nottinghamshire. The 25-year-old was born in Johannesburg and represented Boland.

On Friday, Parnell picked up 3-36 as Durham’s match with Derbyshire finished in a tie, Wiaan Mulder scored a quick-fire 31 off 17 balls (two fours, two sixes) for Leicestershire in their eight-wicket loss to Yorkshire, while Eskinazi struck 24 off 13 deliveries (three fours, one six) in Middlesex’s 13-run defeat to Kent.
