With 16 needed off six deliveries, the Proteas batsman climbed into Prasidh Krishna in front of a capacity Eden Gardens crowd to finish on 68* off 38 balls.

On Wednesday, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis was dismissed for a first-ball duck and Lucknow Super Giants opener Quinton de Kock made just six off five balls as Bangalore won the IPL eliminator by 14 runs.
