David Bedingham, Quinton de Kock and Colin Ackermann were the star South African performers abroad over the past week.

    County Championship Division One

David Bedingham hit a mammoth 279 off 359 deliveries (27 fours, one six) in Durham’s innings-and-63-run victory over Lancashire. He remains the top run-scorer in the competition, with 1,205 at an average of 86.07.

Former SA U19 batting all-rounder Colin Ackermann followed suit with 186 off 312 balls (17 fours) in the same Durham innings.

Ex-Proteas spinner Simon Harmer scored 51 off 112 deliveries (five fours, one six) before taking 4-16 in Essex’s innings-and-83-run victory over Nottinghamshire.

Former Proteas paceman Kyle Abbott shone with the ball, taking 5-46 and 4-66 for Hampshire in their draw with Kent.

    County Championship Division Two

Wayne Madsen scored 47 off 61 balls (six fours) and 48* off 94 deliveries (three fours) for Derbyshire in their 133-run loss to Northamptonshire.

Colin Ingram continued his fine form with a second-innings score of 71 off 102 balls (12 fours) for Glamorgan in their innings-and 87-run defeat to Sussex. He remains the top run-scorer in the division with 1,170 at an average of 97.50.
