The SA U19s go into the third and final day of the third Test against Sri Lanka U19s boasting a 33-run lead.
The South Africans will begin their second innings on the final day in Pallekele, so all signs point towards yet another draw, after the first two also ended in stalemates. Whether it does or not, there have been some commendable performances from the youngsters, as William Sendin took 3-59, while Wiaan Mulder impressed yet again with 4-28.
They posted 295-8 in the first innings, and got off to a roaring start with the ball as they had Sri Lanka on 29-2. A 98-run stand between Avishka Fernando and Hasitha Boyogado however lifted the hosts to safety. Mulder tucked into the tail to take three wickets in two overs to leave SL 33 runs short of SA’s total.
Should they have aims of winning this one they’re going to have to go into one-day mode on Tuesday, before the three-match ODI series starts on Saturday.
