Jacques Rudolph hammered a superb 77 to take Glamorgan to the top of the NatWest T20 Blast South Group.
He then brought his part-time leg-breaks into action, taking 2-8 off two overs to help beat Hampshire by 23 runs and take the Man of the Match award.
Colin Ingram helped him get the innings off to a good start with 13 off nine balls, putting on 36 in four overs and Craig Meschede weighed in late in the innings with 35 off 17, with four sixes.
Rudolph stood firm as wickets fell around him, going to his third fifty in the series off 30 balls. He ended with 13 fours off 45 balls. propelling Glamorgan to 181-8. Gareth Berg snared Ingram and added two late wickets fora tally of 3-34.
Ashwell Prince joined in a Red Rose run-fest, scoring 59 off 30 balls with three fours and fours sixes as Lancashire put on their highest T20 score, 231-4.
He and Paul Horton set the tone immediately: 16 off the first over, bowled by Glenn Maxwell, including a relaxed straight six from Prince. After six overs, they had 75 on the board, the second highest Powerplay score of the season.
It was a total way beyond the capabilities of Yorkshire, who ran out of overs at 202-8.
Johan Myburgh contributed 38 off 30 balls (3×4, 2×6) to Somerset’s 174, it was not nearly enough as Gloucestershire took the honours with four balls to spare
The Paarl Boys old boy Dawid Malan stood out with a top score of 40 in Middlesex’s mediocre offering of 105-9; Surrey ran that down in 14.4 overs.
Over the sea at St Kitts, Kevin Pietersen (73) and Andre Fletcher (77) led St Lucia Zouks to a comfortable 30-run victory against Barbados Tridents. The pair added 138 for the second wicket – the highest partnership so far in this season of the CPL – in just 75 balls. Pietersen had seven fours and four sixes off 39 balls in his 73. The St Lucia Zouks piled up 202 in their 20 overs with Robbie Peterson returning 0-37 off three.
