Ryan McLaren played a major role in Hampshire’s humiliation of Glamorgan in the One-Day Cup.
His 4-42, which included openers David Lloyd and Jacques Rudolph with just 22 runs on the board, helped dismiss Glamorgan for 130 in 32 overs as they chased a target of 316.
The form man of the Glamorgan team, Colin Ingram (0), was one of four victims for the SACS old-boy Gareth Berg, who took 4-25 off his 10 overs. Berg played a few matches for WP B before moving to England.
McLaren also contributed 33 off 17 balls, with three sixes and a four, to take the Hampshire score above 300.
Rory Kleinveldt gave away just 21 runs from five overs in Northamptonshire’s crushing seven-wicket win over Derbyshire.
Derbyshire nevertheless posted a reasonable 272-7, with Wayne Madsen adding 39 off 60 balls; but Northants attacked with such vigour that they were able to run down that total with eight overs to spare. Kleinveldt’s big-hitting was not required.
Cameron Delport made a useful 46 off 45 balls (8×4) to help Leicestershire to an eight-run win over Nottinghamshire.
Choosing to bat, Leicestershire piled up 279, which proved just too much for Riki Wessels’ (21) team. Delport also made a valuable contribution with the ball, taking two wickets while conceding just 43 from 10 overs.
Worcestershire’s Kyle Abbott‘s 3-56 played a big role in holding Lancashire to 267-7, in which Alviro Petersen scored 32 off 27 (7×4) before becoming Abbott’s second victim, caught behind. Worcestershire reached the target with four wickets in hand and 14 balls remaining.
