England opener Jason Roy has been added to the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad for the IPL as a replacement for Mitchell Marsh.
Marsh withdrew himself from this year’s campaign, which will once again be held on Indian shores, due to personal reasons.
The Australian cited trouble with the bio-bubble experience as one of his main concerns to skip the almost two-months-long competition.
Roy, though, performed fairly well during England’s recent tour of India, where he competed in the ODI and T20I series.
He has represented the Gujarat Lions and Delhi Capitals in the past. The 2021 edition of the IPL kicks off next week Friday with a mouthwatering clash between the Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
