Proteas fast bowler Anrich Nortje is among 27 players who have been retained by the eight existing IPL franchises for the 2022 season.
Overall, the franchises spent 269 Indian crore on the eight foreigners and 19 Indians (four uncapped).
Nortje was retained for 6.5 crore (around R13.8 million). In eight matches in this year’s IPL, he took 12 wickets at an average of 15.58, a strike rate of 15.1 and an economy rate of 6.16.
