Kagiso Rabada took 2-22 on the final day of the Proteas’ warm-up match against a Cricket Australia XI in Brisbane.
The four-day clash was drawn after the hosts, needing 426 to win, ended on 184-6.
Cricket Australia XI captain Peter Handscomb scored 48, before retiring out, and Teague Wyllie 44 before being bowled by Keshav Maharaj.
Rabada removed opener Sam Whiteman (one) and Jack Clayton (three) in his six overs, while Lungi Ngidi, Simon Harmer and Maharaj each picked up one wicket.
The match did not have first-class status, which allowed all SA squad members to get game time.
The first Test between Australia and the Proteas at the Gabba in Brisbane starts on Saturday.
