Kagiso Rabada is set to coin it with the Punjab Kings in the IPL.
The Proteas fast bowler, who played for the Delhi Capitals from 2017 to 2021, was bought for R18.6 million (9.25 Indian crore) by Punjab at the IPL auction this past Saturday.
He fetched the highest price of the 10 South Africans who were sold.
If Rabada played the maximum number of matches in an IPL season (17) and bowled four overs in each he would be paid around R45,588 per ball.
If the Punjab Kings didn’t reach the playoffs that figure would increase to R55,357 per ball, presuming he bowled four overs in every league-stage match.
