Kagiso Rabada will be joined by former Proteas captain Shaun Pollock as a Nissan ambassador.
Pollock has remained involved in cricket after his retirement in 2008 through his role as a commentator for SuperSport.
‘I am honoured to be included as part of the Nissan team and look forward to being associated with Nissan as a brand ambassador,’ Pollock said. ‘Nissan’s partnership with cricket will bring fans closer to the game we all love so much.’
Rabada hopes his continued partnership with Nissan will allow him to build on the success that has seen him reach No 1 on the ODI bowler rankings.
‘I am so proud that Nissan and I get to continue on our journey – 2016 was a great year, and with a partner like Nissan, 2017 can only be better,’ Rabada said.
Nissan’s current contract with the ICC runs until 2023 and sees the Japanese car manufacturer lend its name to all international ICC tournaments.
