Wednesday’s Mzansi Super League was largely a seamless, entertaining event, bar obvious mistakes from two teams.
- The Durban Heat had to scramble for a second option, after incorrectly picking all-rounder Wayne Parnell. A representative from the draft auditors noted that a reserve price had been reached – and Parnell was unavailable. The Heat later opted for fast bowler Marchant de Lange, instead. Parnell ultimately went undrafted.
- The Paarl Rocks made a similar mistake, nominating all-rounder David Wiese before being told of the breach. Batsman Grant Thomson then emerged as a secondary preference, with coach Geoffrey Toyana “quite happy with the decision.” No other team opted for Wiese.
