The Proteas Women were demolished by eight wickets in the first ODI against Pakistan at Senwes Park on Monday.
The Proteas’ defeat was subject to a poor batting performance. They were skittled for 63 in 23 overs, with only two of their batters posting double-digit scores.
Mignon du Preez (18) and Chloe Tryon (21) produced cameos, while the rest of the batters collapsed miserably. The majority of the damage was dished out by Pakistan right-arm off-break bowler Sana Mir, who finished with figures of 4-11.
The Pakistan chase was relatively effortless. Apart from the Proteas starting off well to reduce the visitors to 28-2 with their two seamers up top, it was a simple chase. Javeria Khan (34) and Pakistan skipper Bismah Maroof (12) took their side over the line.
Kapp, playing in her 100th ODI, took one wicket, but that was the only positive to complement her special day.
