The England and Wales Cricket Board have revealed that three Proteas Women players have been added to the roster for the 2017 Super League.
The Southern Vipers have selected Proteas captain Dane van Niekerk, the Surrey Stars have picked Marizanne Kapp and Yorkshire Diamonds have added Sune Luus to their side.
Van Niekerk is currently ranked fourth on the T20I and ODI all-rounder’s list, while Kapp is ranked as No 1 ODI bowler and third on the ODI all-rounder’s rankings.
Luus is currently 14th in the ODI all-rounder rankings, but at 21 years old is already earning a reputation as a top-quality player. She has played 45 ODIs, scoring 562 runs (four fifties) @ 22.48 and has taken 65 wickets @ 18.86. In T20Is she’s scored 161 runs and has taken 27 wickets.
The 2017 Super League starts on 10 August and will see all six teams playing each other once in the league. The top three teams qualify for finals day at Hove on 1 September, with the second and third-placed sides competing for the chance to face the first-placed league winners in the final.
