It has been 13 years since the Proteas last played cricket in Pakistan, but reports have emerged suggesting the two teams could meet in March.
The South Africans need to ramp up preparations for the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia in October and this could have the side travel to Pakistan for a series of just three T20 internationals.

The Proteas last played in Pakistan in 2007 with away matches in the UAE following a terrorist attack on the bus carrying the Sri Lankan Test team in 2009.
A security team is expected to visit Pakistan in February, with its report back to CSA likely to determine the viability of a long-awaited return to the country.
The Proteas are next scheduled to play Pakistan in 2012 for two Test matches and three T20 internationals.
