Proteas all-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo has been ruled out for the remainder of the ODI series against England.
Phehlukwayo sustained a concussion following a collision with Keshav Maharaj while fielding during the first ODI at Riverside Ground in Durham on Tuesday.
He was replaced during the match by Dwaine Pretorius.
“Following his concussion, Andile has been monitored closely and has shown signs of improvement,” said Proteas team doctor Hashendra Ramjee. “He will now commence his concussion return-to-play rehabilitation programme.”
The second ODI will take place at Old Trafford on Friday with the third at Headingley on Sunday.
