The Proteas have been fined 20% of their match fee after another slow over rate during this past Saturday’s first T20I against Pakistan in Johannesburg.
The International Cricket Council announced on Sunday that the South Africans were one over short of the required target, while they lost the encounter by four wickets.
Proteas stand-in captain Heinrich Klaasen accepted the sanction with on-field umpires Adrian Holdstock and Allahudien Palekar, third umpire Bangani Jele and fourth umpire Shaun George levelling the charge.
This is the second time the Proteas have been fined for a slow over rate since Pakistan arrived in the country. A similar sanction was imposed after the first ODI between the two teams in Centurion two weeks ago.
The second T20I between the Proteas and Pakistan takes place at the Wanderers on Monday.
