The Proteas have won the toss and have opted to bat first against England, as they look to reach the World Cup final for the first time in their history.
The first box has been ticked as the Proteas have won the toss on a used track in Bristol. The next box has been ticked with the news that the explosive Chloe Tryon returns to the lineup in place of medium-pacer Masabata Klaas.
England outplayed the South Africans in the group stages at the same ground, as their 373-5 was always going to be too much for the Proteas. They can take heart, though, that they mustered 305-9 in response, so it’s just a matter of bringing all disciplines together. A knockout clash comes with fresh challenges and perspectives, and the Proteas will look to thrive off the underdog tag to pull off an upset against the hosts.
