Meeka-eel Prince scored a sublime 166 as the North West Dragons clinched a three-wicket victory over the Boland Rocks in the One-Day Cup in Potchefstroom on Sunday.
After being put in to bat, the Rocks posted 323-4 thanks to superb centuries from Keegan Petersen (121) and Pieter Malan (171), who put on 233 runs for the third wicket.
That left the hosts with a lot of work to do to secure their first win in the competition.
But while they lost the early wicket of Lesiba Ngoepe, Prince then produced good partnerships with Lesego Senokwane (31), Senuran Muthusamy (44) and Ruan de Swart (32).
Prince, who hit 15 fours and six sixes, was dismissed at the start of the 47th over by Hardus Viljoen (4-71), before Rubin Hermann (18*) and Migael Pretorius (11*) got their team home with nine balls remaining.
The other match in Division 1, between the EP Warriors and KZN Dolphins in Gqeberha, was rained out.
In Division 2, SA Emerging beat the Garden Route Badgers (SWD) by seven wickets in Oudtshoorn.
Junaid Dawood (4-27) and Tristan Luus (3-31) helped bundle the Badgers out for 150 in 40.2 overs, before Modiri Litheko (65*) and Valentine Kitime (40) helped the youngsters reach their target in just under 26 overs.
In Kimberley, the Eastern Cape Iinyathi secured a six-run win against the Northern Cape Heat, the Free State Knights beat the Eastern Storm by 56 runs in Benoni, and the Limpopo Impalas claimed a 48-run victory against the Mpumalanga Rhinos in Polokwane.
