Proteas all-rounder Dwaine Pretorius has been ruled out of England’s tour of South Africa due to a hamstring injury, team doctor Shuaib Manjra confirmed on Thursday.
Manjra confirmed the injury to the media ahead of the first T20I between the Proteas and England at Newlands in Cape Town on Friday evening.
He also provided updates on the two players, who tested positive for Covid-19 last week, stating they will not be available for selection for the opening clash.

The players’ names have been not been revealed as of yet due to doctor-patient confidentiality, although Manjra added that the players have the right to personally announce it to the rest of the public.
Pretorius, though, has subsequently been released from the Proteas’ bio-bubble to rejoin the Lions squad where he will continue his recovery.
The Proteas will not name a replacement for Pretorius for the three T20I and three ODI matches due to regulations from their bio-secure environment.
