South African cricket legend Graeme Pollock was hospitalised 10 days ago after suffering a stroke.
It is the latest heath setback for the 80-year-old, who’s battled colon cancer and Parkinson’s Disease.
Spook Hanley, Pollock’s former Transvaal teammate, visited him on Friday.
“He moves his arms and understands everything you say,” Hanley told Rapport newspaper. “Although he is stable, I can’t see him getting out [of the hospital] in the near future.”
Pollock, a left-handed batsman, played just 23 Tests for South Africa due to isolation, averaging 60.23, and inĀ 1999, he was named South Africa’s Cricketer of the 20th Century.
Pollock stays at the Evergreen retirement home in Johannesburg.
