In an effort to encourage attacking cricket, the points system for the Sunfoil Series has been changed.
As the season kicked off on Tuesday, Cricket South Africa announced that winning teams will collect 16 points for their efforts, plus all bonus points; up from 15 last season.
Points for a tie have been increased to eight, and points for a draw will be six aside, in addition to the normal bonus points.
The clause dealing with a match reduced to 10 hours a side has been removed.
The batting bonus system remains the same: 1 point awarded in the first 100 overs of each first innings attaining 150 runs, and 0,02 of a point for each run thereafter. In bowling, there is one point at the fall of 3rd, 5th, 7th and 9th wicket in the first 100 overs of an innings
