Josh Hazlewood’s superb reversing delivery which took out AB de Villiers’ middle stump is our Play of the Day.
It was sweet revenge for the seamer, as De Villiers had earlier taken him for 14 runs in his seventh over with two fours and a six. Hazlewood had already removed Quinton de Kock and Hashim Amla, but at 206-3, the Proteas were still on track to chase down the Aussies’ total of 288-6.
Then Hazlewood got one to reverse swing through the gate as De Villiers went for a big shot, sending him home with just 39 runs in his bag and the Proteas on 210-4 after 38 overs. It was the turning point, for the rest of the batting line-up were not up to the fight.
