David Warner’s captain’s knock, leading the Sunrisers Hyderabad to victory over the Gujarat Lions, is our Play of the Day.
Warner was his trademark destructive self early in the Sunrisers’ reply to the Lions’ 162-7, but he lacked support from the other end. Only two other top-seven batters broke the 10-run mark.
Warner reached his 50 from 35 balls in the 11th over, having hit seven fours and one six, before finishing unbeaten on 93 from 58 balls, with 11 fours and three sixes, and hitting the winning runs with four balls to spare.
