Andile Phehlukwayo will aim to return for the Sri Lanka series after picking up a nasty groin injury in his last T20 challenge match against the Warriors on Sunday.
The-20-year-old Proteas all-rounder has been ruled out for four-to-six weeks which means his participation in the T20 challenge has come to an end. It has been confirmed that Phehlukwayo should be fit and ready to face Sri Lanka in the five-match ODI series starting on January 28.
Phehlukwayo was hit in the groin area after JJ Smuts smashed a delivery directly back at him on the last ball of his second over, ruling him out for the rest of their match.
Phehlukwayo had an impressive start to his ODI career and was one of the stars of the 5-0 whitewash against Australia. He took eight wickets in five matches and scored an important 42 not out in the second ODI to help SA over the line.
