The Proteas lost the toss and will bat first in the second ODI at Centurion. KHALID MOHIDIN reports.
After the Proteas cruised to victory in the first ODI at the Bullring, they will be looking to extend their control in the series at SuperSport Park.
The first ODI was dominated by the Proteas’ expected stars in the side – Faf du Plessis, Quinton de Kock, Imran Tahir and Kagiso Rabada – while Lungi Ngidi also showed that he means business after returning from a three-month injury lay-off.
It’s time now for the rest of the players to step up and prove they deserve a spot in the World Cup XI.
Chatter about the Proteas’ best XV occurred all week, especially after some great performances at franchise level during the One-Day Cup.

The Proteas made one change to their side, replacing Dwaine Pretorius with Andile Phehlukwayo.
Sri Lanka will aim to turn up the intensity and find an extra gear. This will make the contest a lot more competitive than expected.
The visitors have made two changes to their side, with Avishka Fernando making only his second appearance since his debut in 2016, while seamer Kasun Rajitha replaces left-arm spinner Lakshan Sandakan.
