Keegan Petersen has been ruled out of South Africa’s three-Test tour of Australia.
The 29-year-old tore a hamstring while playing for the Dolphins against the Titans in last Saturday’s T20 Challenge final in Potchefstroom.
He will be sidelined for between six and eight weeks.
The Proteas No 3 batsman also missed their last Test tour, of New Zealand, after contracting Covid-19.
The first Test will take place in Brisbane from 17-21 December followed by a first Australia-SA Boxing Day Test in Melbourne and New Year’s Test in Sydney in 13 years.
