The Paarl Royals have signed Sri Lankan pace bowler Eshan Malinga as a replacement for Englishman John Turner.

Turner will be unavailable for the upcoming season due to his commitments with the England Lions.

Malinga has been making waves in the domestic circuit. Known for his ability to generate sharp pace and movement, he has shown the potential to thrive in pressure situations.

“Eshan is a fantastic young talent with raw pace and determination,” said Paarl Royals coach Trevor Penney. “He has shown his ability to trouble batters with both his speed and accuracy. We’re confident he will add tremendous value to our squad.”

The Royals kick off their 2025 campaign at home against the Sunrisers Eastern Cape on 11 January at Boland Park.
