• Dolphins only unbeaten side at Cubs Week

After three days of action at the CSA U19 Cubs Week, the Dolphins are the only unbeaten side, having beaten the Knights by 97 runs in Stellenbosch on Saturday, writes THEO GARRUN.

The Dolphins made 229-9 in their 50 overs, with Matthew Montgomery getting 98 – the highest score of the day – and then bowled the Knights out for 132, thanks to a blistering spell of quick bowling from their SA Schools and U19 player, Lifa Ntanzi, who took 5-15 in six overs.

Ntanzi’s was not the only outstanding bowling performance of the day, as Ethan Wentzel of the Titans took 6-38 in 10 overs against the Lions.

The Highveld side nonetheless managed to reach 231, with Cameron Shekleton getting his third half-century in a row, and Khaya Majola Week Player of the Tournament Bryce Parsons shining with the bat (scoring 47 runs) and the ball (returning 4-29) to help his side to their first win of the week.

The Warriors, the only other side that won both its opening matches, were beaten by the Cape Cobras, as Ruan Terblanché made 61 for the local side (his third big score of the week) to help the Cobras chase down the target set for them by the Warriors.

All the games are in Stellenbosch. Play continues until Tuesday
