The Northerns Titans thrashed the Boland Rocks by 177 runs in their opening One-Day Cup match in Centurion on Friday night.
Theunis de Bruyn’s 134 enable the Titans to post a massive total of 348-7 after they had been asked to bat by Rocks captain Pieter Malan.
While Janneman Malan scored 93 for the Rocks at the top of the order, and received some support from Stiaan van Zyl (34) and Michael Copeland (28), they were bowled out for 171.
Lungi Ngidi took 5-33, including the final wicket of Malan in the 36th over.
At the Wanderers, the Central Gauteng Lions crushed the EP Warriors by 160 runs.
Sisanda Magala took 6-55 as the Warriors were bowled out for 106.
The Lions had earlier made 266-8 thanks largely to Rassie van der Dussen (81) and Mitchell van Buuren (78). Glenton Stuurman (3-47) starred with the ball.

In Potchefstroom, the North West Dragons upset Western Province by 17 runs.
The Dragons posted 243-9 in their 50 overs, with Senuran Muthusamy scoring exactly 100 before being run out. Opener Heino Kuhn (49) and Khanya Cotani (41) also made useful contributions, while Mihlali Mpongwana (3-31) was Province’s best bowler.
Jonathan Bird (116) starred with the bat for WP, who were in the contest until Bird was dismissed by Dwaine Pretorius (3-40) off the first ball of the 48th over.
In Division 2, the KZN Inland Tuskers beat the Limpopo Impalas by five wickets in Polokwane and the Mpumalanga Rhinos defeated the Eastern Storm by 61 runs in Benoni.
