Duanne Olivier’s spell of 4-54 for SA Invitational in a drawn match against Sri Lanka at Senwes Park makes him our Turbo Bowler.
The former SA U19 speedster has given selectors something to think about as he continues to impress with the ball. He ended last season’s Sunfoil Series campaign in second position with 41 sticks in seven matches, six behind Hardus Viljoen who took his 47 in nine matches. Olivier won on averages: his came at 16.07 while Viljoen returned 23.02.
In this season’s Sunfoil Series, he sits on top of the pile after five matches with 28 wickets at an average of 21.60 and has spearheaded the Knights into second place on the standings
Although he had a sub-par T20 Challenge campaign for the Knights, taking only four wickets, Olivier impressed with a four-for in a warm-up match against Sri Lanka, announcing himself as a strong contender for a possible national selection.
