South Africa A fast-bowler DuanneĀ Olivier will be looking to leave his mark on his side’s unofficial Test against the England Lions.
The 25-year-old has had a decent tour of England thus far, picking up two wickets in the second ODI against the Lions, which ended in a 144-run defeat.
During SA A’s four-day warm-up encounter with Sussex, Olivier was the standout performer in a bowling attack that struggled. His 3-108 was the only real threat posed to a Sussex batting order that scored 458 runs in their first and only innings.
Should Olivier continue in the same vein, SA A will have a fantastic chance to finish their tour of England on a high.
A solid showing for SA A would go a long way to earning Olivier a call-up to the Proteas Test squad for the England series, perhaps as cover for Morne Morkel.
To date, Olivier has played one Test for his country against Sri Lanka at the Wanderers, picking up five wickets in the match.
