New Zealand beat Pakistan by five wickets in their first T20I in Auckland.
Pakistan batted first and scored 153/9, a total they would have been disappointed in, given the wicket’s relative tameness.
Skipper Shadab Khan top scored with 42, while Faheem Ashraf contributed 31 down the order. Jacob Duffy excelled with the ball, taking 4-33.
Tim Seifert anchored the chase for the Black Caps, scoring 57 off 43 deliveries. Mark Chapman’s 34 off 20 deliveries pushed the chase deep, leaving Jamie Neesham and Mitchell Santner to close the innings out with seven balls to spare.
