Zimbabwe are still seeking a new coach, despite Makhaya Ntini’s appointment as interim head coach in May. 

Ntini coached the side in their limited-overs home series against India and two home Tests against New Zealand. Both series ended in defeat as Zimbabwe struggled to impress losing 3-0 to India in the ODI series and 2-1 in T20s. They lost both Tests against New Zealand by significant margins.

Despite Ntini’s appointment, ZC are adamant that they will accept applications until 8 September. U19 coach Stephen Mangongo and Zimbabwe A coach Douglas Hondo look like strong candidates for the position, as questions are still unanswered regarding Ntini’s position.

According to Cricinfo.com, it remains unknown whether Ntini will apply for his position.
