After battling major health issues in 2019, Warriors cricketer Solo Nqweni has now tested positive for coronavirus.
The 26-year-old Nqweni spent close to five months in a hospital in Scotland in 2019 after contracting Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS), while playing club cricket for Aberdeenshire.

In an emotional announcement on Twitter on Thursday, Nqweni, who twice represented Eastern Province at the Africa T20 Cup, expressed his disgust after everything he’s been through the past year: ‘I don’t understand why all of this is happening to me. Honestly.’
Last year the Proteas pledged R50,000 towards Nqweni’s rehabilitation as he recovered from kidney and liver failure, while also battling TB.
So last year I got GBS, and have been battling this disease for the past 10 months and I’m only half way through my recovery. I got TB, my liver failed and my kidney failed. Now today I tested positive for corona virus. I don’t understand why all of this is happening to me.
