The Northern Cape Heat will travel to Pietermaritzburg to take on the KZN Inland Tuskers in the One-Day Cup Division 2 final on Friday.
Having already won this season’s 4-Day Domestic Series Division 2 title, the Heat are targeting what would be a memorable double in the first season under CSA’s new provincial structure.
“It’s an amazing opportunity for the Heat and the Northern Cape cricket community at large,” said Heat coach Mark Charlton.
“We know a very tough task awaits us playing the Tuskers, who are a fantastic cricket team, but we are confident we will give a good account of ourselves.”
Gibson Molale, president of Northern Cape Cricket, said: “This first season has been an extremely rewarding one for the Heat team, players and coaching staff.
“I’m very proud of what this team has achieved as I’m aware of all the hard work and effort that was put into the season.”
