Proteas bowler Lungi Ngidi has left the Chennai Super Kings to travel back to South Africa following the death of his father.

According to TimesLive, Jerome Ngidi passed away on Friday morning in Durban.

He had reportedly suffered complications from a recent back operation.

‘I can confirm the sad news and our deepest condolences go to his family and friends,’ said Titans CEO Jacques Faul. ‘As a cricket family‚ we will assist wherever we can at this difficult time for the family.’
