Lungi Ngidi took 4-14 to silence the Warriors on their home turf as the Titans sealed a 61-run victory in round three of the Ram Slam T20 Challenge.
It was a dominant performance from the 21-year-old, who once again proved why he should be donning a Proteas shirt.
An outstanding return from the speedster saw him take four wickets in 2.2 overs at an economy rate of 6.00.
His first over, however, did not go to plan, as he conceded 10 runs, which started off with consecutive fours off Jon-Jon Smuts’ willow.
As the Warriors steamed to 50 without a wicket, Nigidi got his revenge with a double-strike in the sixth over to reduce the hosts to 50-2. His scalps included the Warriors captain, Smuts (20), and Kolpak signee Colin Ackermann (0), as the Titans fought their way back from a sketchy start.
Wickets continued to tumble through Tabraiz Shamsi (2-25), Aiden Markram (3-21) and Dale Steyn (1-20), until Ngidi wrapped things up with exquisite death-bowling – picking up a brace to knock out the Warriors for 111.
A third consecutive win for the Titans and a second bonus-point collected, as the Centurion side got their title defence off to the perfect start.
