Proteas all-rounder Wiaan Mulder will not be linking up with County Championship side Leicestershire due to a busy international schedule.
Mulder was due to join the UK-based franchise in anticipation of the country’s upcoming summer season of cricket, where he would have featured in the County Championship and Royal London Cup.
The 23-year-old is expected to be involved with the Proteas for more international series in the coming months, with new fixtures being compiled amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

‘The club is looking for a replacement for Wiaan, a player who complements the Running Foxes and fits in with the exciting brand of cricket that Paul Nixon and his coaching staff are implementing at the Uptonsteel County Ground,’ read a statement from Leicestershire last week.
Club head coach Paul Nixon added: ‘It is a huge shame that Wiaan won’t be joining us but we understand the need for flexibility in the current situation and wish him all the best for the coming months.’
Mulder has been in great form for the Proteas in their recent Test series against Sri Lanka and Pakistan, doing an excellent job as the all-rounder in the team.
