Afghanistan spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman has been a revelation this IPL season.
The 17-year-old has had a life-changing year which saw him go from his ODI debut in December 2017 to being picked up in the IPL by the Kings XI Punjab.
He took his tally to 12 wickets for the season, in his side’s six-wicket win against the Rajasthan Royals, which bumped them to third on the IPL log with 12 points. His 3-27 on Sunday put his side on the front foot, dismissing three big hitters in Ben Stokes (12), Jos Buttler (51 off 39) and Jofra Archer (0).
He has taken the most wickets for the Kings this season as he continues to be a talisman as his side draws nearer to a playoff spot.
Mujeeb has played nine games this IPL season, taking 12 wickets at an average of 20.00 and an economy rate of 6.85.
In 15 ODIs, he has taken 35 wickets at an average of 16.62 and an economy rate of 4.04.
