Chris Morris took 3-23 as the Delhi Daredevils claimed a 51-run victory over the Kings XI Punjab on Saturday.
Morris was instrumental in his side’s victory and made up for a disappointing batting display, which saw him removed for an eight-ball 16 (one six, one four), with a tidy bowling performance.
He played a vital role in KXIP’s top-six collapse, which saw them reduced for 88 in just 13.4 overs. Morris dismissed his Proteas teammate, Hashim Amla, on 19 off 12 deliveries which saw the visitors stranded on 31-3 (4.4).
He finished things off by taking two scalps in the final over of the game, dismissing KC Cariappa (1) and the in-form Axar Patel, who smashed 44 off 29 balls (one four, three sixes).
He ended with figures of 3-23 as his side throttled KXIP to 137-9.
David Miller had the chance to play a starring role for his side, but could not find the destructive momentum to take his side home, losing his scalp 24 off 28 deliveries.
