Morné Morkel gave South Africans something to shout about when he claimed his 250th Test wicket at Seddon Park.
The Proteas battled to take wickets on day three of the third Test. That said, the one they did claim in the first session was significant, in that it marked Morkel’s 250th in Test cricket.

Less than half an hour into the day’s play, Morkel found the edge of Tom Latham’s bat. The ball flew to the slip cordon and Quinton de Kock dived to his left to complete a stunning catch.
With that dismissal, Morkel became the sixth South African (and the 41st bowler overall) to take 250 Test wickets. Fitness permitting, the 32-year-old fast bowler should move up that list and surpass the 300-mark before the end of his career.
