Kagiso Rabada and Morne Morkel have both risen one position in the ICC Test Bowlers rankings after their performances in New Zealand.
Rabada is now placed seventh, after finishing with eight wickets @ 38.87. Morkel’s return to Tests saw him finish with 11 wickets @ 26.72, which bumped him to 13th on the rankings.
Vernon Philander had a poor tour to New Zealand, with the 31-year-old only managing two scalps, surpassing only Dean Elgar and Temba Bavuma below him among the top bowlers in the series. He drops out of the top 10 to 11th.
Dale Steyn’s absence has seen him steadily decline, as he moves to eighth and still manages to hold on to a top 10 position.
South Africa’s leading wicket-taker from their New Zealand tour, Keshav Maharaj who took 15 wickets, is currently ranked 38th.
