Morne Morkel will miss the remainder of the Bangladesh Test series due to a side strain.
The right-arm quick, after taking two wickets in his first over during Bangladesh’s second innings, walked off the field two balls into his sixth over.
He also picked up the unwanted record of taking the most wickets (14) off a no-ball, when he clean-bowled Mushfiqur Rahim on 2 in his second over.
CSA confirmed on Twitter that he has sustained a side strain and will be off to hospital on Monday to have further scans.
Faf du Plessis confirmed, at the end of their 333-run win against Bangladesh on Monday, that he will too miss the second Test and will be out of action for four to six weeks.
This means that South Africa’s young seamers, Kagiso Rabada, Duanne Olivier and Andile Phehlukwayo, will have to step up in his absence.
