Opener Eddie Moore believes Western Province can end the EP Warriors’ winning start to the T20 Challenge when the teams meet at Boland Park on Sunday.
Province will take on the Warriors at 10am on double-header day in Paarl, with the Boland Rocks then playing the Central Gauteng Lions at 2pm.
Both matches will be live on SuperSport Action (channel 210).
Moore struck 101 off 58 balls to help Province claim a 48-run bonus-point win over the KZN Inland Tuskers on Wednesday and he is eager to carry that momentum into Sunday’s match.
“You can always expect high standards, a fighting spirit and a will to win from our WP team,” he said. “Hopefully, we can execute our plans and skills on the day and come up with a positive result.
“We had a really good chat and session [on Friday]. Hopefully, we’ll take some learnings from our previous performances and get better as we get to the business end of the competition.
“It’s always important for me to contribute to the team’s success. I believe that you never take good form for granted, so you can expect the same processes from me going forward.”
WP are second on the T20 Challenge log with 21 points after four wins, two defeats and a tie; 10 points behind the Warriors, who have seven wins from as many matches.
“The Warriors are playing good cricket at the moment, so it should be a good contest,” More said. “I have no doubt in my mind that if we hit our straps on Sunday we can come out on top.
“We are looking forward to a good and competitive match which provides us with the opportunity to showcase our skills against one of the better teams at the moment.”
