David Miller’s T20 struggles continued as the St Lucia Zouks crumbled by eight wickets against the high-flying Guyana Amazon Warriors in the CPL.
Having been put in to bat, the Zouks struggled to 138-6, thanks to Mike Hussey’s 64. Miller was the next best score, on 23 off 22 balls, but the big innings’ which defined his earlier career continues to elude him. He came in with the Zouks at 41-3 and anchored a partnership of 62 with Hussey, until he was deceived by a wrong ‘un from Adam Zampa.
Miller endured a torrid time in the Indian Premier League, losing the captaincy of the Kings XI halfway through, and in the last 10 T20 matches, he has a high of 33 and two 20s.
The Warriors had no problems chasing down the target, with Jason Mohammed’s 43 off 29 finishing the job after Dwayne Smith (32 off 24), Martin Guptill (19) and Chris Lynn (38 not out off 29) had laid the foundation.
