Another astounding piece of boundary fielding came from an Aussie-Kiwi duo for the Delhi Daredevils in their win over the Mumbai Indians.
Aussie Glenn Maxwell first caught West Indian Kieron Pollard off the bowling of Sandeep Lamichhane for seven. Maxwell took the catch in the air at long-on and then, as he bounced over the boundary rope, looped the ball gently to Kiwi teammate Trent Boult to complete the catch at long-off.
Four overs later, the pair repeated their double-act in almost exactly the same manner, this time Rohit Sharma being the batsman to hole out for 13 off the bowling of Harshal Patel.
It was a great display of fielding and alertness from both fielders and, while neither efforts will win the catch of the season award (they didn’t even win the catch of the match!), you’ll wait a lifetime to see a repeat of this fielding double act in any innings.
Boult took three catches in total in the innings, including the final wicket to seal the victory – once again at long-off!
