Zayan Abrahams left a note on a random G-Class Mercedes asking the stranger to escort her to her matric dance. She had the shock of her life when she realised that car belonged to none other than Proteas speedster, Steyn.
The 17-year-old Bergvliet High School pupil explained the incident in an interview with TimesLive.
‘I just tore a piece of paper out of my book and stuck it on the windscreen. I had no idea that it was his car,’ she said.
‘He actually drove us in, it was amazing! He was a very nice guy, really down to earth. He spoke with us and was very sweet.
‘My partner mostly spoke to him. We spoke about his car, how he started his career and about his girlfriend as well.’
Steyn returned home from the IPL after an injury he picked up playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. This gave him the time to proceed with the good deed.
