Two Indian supporters were detained by Sri Lanka Cricket’s anti-corruption unit on suspicion of match-fixing during a Sri Lankan T20 league game.
The suspects were apprehended on Wednesday. According to officials, they were spotted making suspicious calls on their cell phones throughout the match between Galle and Dambulla at Pallekele.
‘We saw suspicious behaviour of the two Indians and ACU [anti-corruption unit] officials handed them over to the police for further investigations,’ a Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) official told AFP.
This comes a day after the ICC launched a statement on their hunt for the mix-fixer from the Al Jazeera documentary.

The T20 tournament features only Sri Lankan cricketers after Sri Lanka failed to copy the global T20 model of leagues like the Indian Premier League, Caribbean Premier League and Pakistan Super League, as they failed to attract overseas talent.
